Sentinel is Deeptrack’s compliance platform for regulated businesses in Kenya and East Africa. Your team works in the Sentinel dashboard; your systems use the Sentinel API to run the same checks automatically, for example during onboarding in your core banking or mobile app.

What you can do with the API

KYC identity checks

ID document, liveness, face match, IPRS (Kenya’s national register) and AML screening of the person, in one call.

Document checks

Verify an identity document, a proof of address or a KRA PIN certificate, with OCR and forensic checks.

AML screening and monitoring

Screen people and businesses against sanctions, PEP, Kenyan risk lists and adverse media, then keep monitoring them.

Business checks (KYB)

Check a business, its registration documents and every director and owner.

Capture links

Send a customer a link to capture their ID and a selfie on their own phone.

Transaction monitoring

Send transactions and get alerts for large cash, structuring, rapid movement and risky counterparties.

How it works

  1. Get access. Your organization signs up at sentinel.deeptrack.io (new organizations start on a free trial). An Admin invites your developers.
  2. Create a key. In Sentinel, under Developer → API Keys, create a key with only the scopes your integration needs. The same page shows your API address.
  3. Build against test mode. Test keys (gt_test_…) return a sandbox result at once, are never charged and store none of the personal data you send.
  4. Receive results. Checks run asynchronously: the API answers 202 with an id, and Sentinel sends the result to your webhook or you fetch it with GET /v1/verify/{id}.
  5. Go live. Switch to a live key (gt_live_…). Live checks use credits; checks that need a person to look open a review case for your team in the dashboard.
Every request is authenticated with Authorization: Bearer <your key>. Keep keys on your servers, never in a mobile app or web page.
